Wait a second.. there's something fishy going on here. When I tried before and when it worked, I downloaded from home. Now that I'm trying again from work, I get the same error.

Obviously, my company's proxy or something similar is a possible culprit in a situation like this. But as I stated, I have tried several other ftp's which work without a hitch. For instance, ftp.nexenta.org: Not a problem. ftp.nexentastor.org: Times out. I wish I could beam over and test from home again, but no such luck. I know of at least one other person who could not download the other day from a third location so it definitely is not just my company's internet acting up.

Linda, could you reproduce the problem yourself the other day? In that case, it sounds like that server is down.. again.. One other possible cause could be that "the guy" :) changed some DNS settings and I'm still getting old cached values from the work DNS servers or something.

Anyway, just thought I'd let you know that I'm still seeing some problems. I burned out my CD from home so I'm good for now, but I assume others might want to download it as well at some time.. :)

yes, when i tried it first thing yesterday i got a time out. I just tried this morning and it worked fine. I think that nexentastor.org is on ec2. nexenta.com is on our property. nexenta.org is still out on a university campus so the same proxies don't apply.
