Nevermind. I was having major issues configuring a simple mixed access cifs/nfs share with a workgroup. Not very user friendly from the GUI.
Between cifs/zfs default unix user, umask, ACLs, idmap workgroup pain, I've got it set up via CLI The Solaris smb server cifs/nfs mixed mode access stuff is a bloody painful after having dealt extensively with Celerras, Ontap, and Samba. Those chmod commands are about as convoluted as it gets.

We have found that it is easier if you try and config user and perms from the client side. Just an fyi
