LDAP client in Community Edition?
Added by Dan Swartzendruber about 1 year ago
Is it supposed to work? I am looking at the 3.1.2 version, and the docs don't match what I see on the screen. Among other things, the field for the client authentication password is not there, which makes it kind of hard to specify it. Is LDAP even supposed to work in CE? If so, seems to be a bug. If not, seems kind of silly (and a waste of cycles for people who don't know any better trying to use the disabled feature). ???

Interesting. Looking again at the PDF, I see the pull-down menu for LDAP config shows the combined settings from 'init' and 'manual' when I try it. e.g. if I use 'manual', I can set 'anonymous' credential level, but not profile name, LDAP authentication password or domain name. ???

I got it to at least talk to the LDAP server by changing nsslapd-allow-anonymous-access to on in the ldap server's config, but I still can't seem to fetch the user list in nexentastor's GUI. I'm sure I'm just not putting the right incantation in the right places, but there is no tutorial I can find, and google has not been very helpful. Any tips would be much appreciated.
