Will adding more RAM require adjusting SWAP partition.
Added by Jerry Redmon 11 months ago
We have a Nexentastor which has 4GB of RAM. Wanted to know if we increase the RAM to 8GB if the swap partition have to be increased? And, will Nexenta automatically accomodate the new RAM without any other software changes?

Unless you have tweaked some system settings, it should 'just work'. And no, you needn't add swap.

no, NS does to adjust swap-size automatically.
You can adjust swap-size according to following document:

Nexentastor will adjust the memory itself. Swap partition will stay the same and will need to be manually adjusted. But, we rarely hit swap anyways.. especially since the majority of activities on the box are run in kernel.
Dump is more important... You need to have a dump volume to be equal to ram to hold a core file if necessary.
